A head injury program can help. After your son is released from the hospital, he will need therapy to gain back some of the skills he has lost.  Early therapy has been correlated with faster healing. Therapy usually lasts six to nine months. Most improvement occurs during the first year after the injury, but brain injury patients can continue to make improvements after this time period.
